Ahhhh the silly season is just about over and a new year is ahead, my new motto is “I will win in 2010″, win what you say? Win over bad habits, create new (good) habits, set new goals towards optimum health. Research has proven that it takes 21 days to form a habit. Habits are an essential part of our life, without them we would fail in most things we try to accomplish. As Dr. Andrew Weil says, anything you do with repetition and emotion will become your reality. If you’re not satisfied with your current experience, examine your habits.

Athletes know all too well how important it is to stick to habits, especially in training. But most people struggle with their day to day practice of habits and if you are one of them fear no more. You too can change your bad habits into a good one, just take 21 days and you will be well on your way to become a changed person.

The 21 day habit practice

(I didn’t write it but it is a good guide to follow)

First of all, you will need to be clear on your intentions. Do you really want to play the violin? or was this wish merely conceived when your best friend showed you their instrument.

Once you are absolute certain you want to follow through with this, here is what you do. First write down your intentions. It is important you use positive affirmations to write these goals.

It helps if you can identify your why. Why do you want to play the violin, lose weight, run a marathon, etc. The bigger your conviction, the easier it will be be for you to make the transition.

Create diversions to help you stay on track. If there is a specific weakness you battle that stops you from progressing and practicing every day, try to find ways to distract you from the negativity. It will help to keep you on track. Total honesty with yourself goes a long way here.

Celebrate each step, regardless how tiny it is. You need all the help you can get to keep motivated. It also helps to enlist the support of friends or family members. People who can motivate you to keep on going.

Stay clear of negative people. There will be those who try to sabotage you. This doesn’t even have to be intentional. It could evolve from a negative statement aimed at you, or even a deep rooted belief you had since you can remember. Any trigger that could bring this out should be avoided.

Above all be “thankful” to yourself each day that you made it another day! Positive affirmation is essential to your motivation………..

I really went on a eating binge on Thanksgiving. The high alkaline, high plant food diet that i have been trying to jump start was gone for the moment as i gorged on turkey, gravy, and all the side dishes that would fit on my plate, ummmm! I finished it off with Chocolate Cream Pie…..ok the holidays are not over and I am feeling like one of those people that makes a New Years resolution so they can pound down the holiday delights with a promise to go on a diet after the New Year. I won’t promise to diet but I want to head towards the raw whole foods mentality. The more I educate myself on our foods the more I can see why there is so much disease to battle. God didn’t intend for us to exisit on all this prefab food, the GO modified creepy stuff they are doing to our crops………our seeds, they are taking the life out of them. If we just learn about our bodies we learn we need clean good fuel to keep it running, just like a car needs an oil change, clean gas, a flush of the radiator………it is such a picture of what we need to do in order to function properly. I want that and need that and I am excited about the prospect of practicing what I preach!

Happy Holidays………..Q

Ok I just heard on the news 11/20/09 that the H1N1 virus has mutated, hmm I am not surprised……I had heard about this happening a couple of weeks ago from John McTernan’s blog, he talked about how the plague is ravaging the Ukraine rght now and no one has reported it here in the U.S……why all the secrecy? Have the mad scientist been at it and something went awry, looks like it! They have a form that is deadly like the bubonic plague and NO ONE has been talking……….ok now is the time to think about your health, your immune system. What are you doing for it? This is serious and needs to be looked at. Start taking at least 2,000 units of D3 (vit. D), Cod liver Oil lemon flavored (it’s tolerable). Also can’t say enough of Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother in it), at least a tablespoon a day in water with a little honey makes a great healthy cocktail to sip on. Also Jesus the elixer of life if you don’t know him email me I will introduce you to him………..

Apple Cider Vinegar has been highly regarded throughout history. In 400 B.C. the great Hippocrates, Father of Medicine, used it for its amazing health qualities. Vinegar is one of nature’s great gifts to mankind, and vinegar history shows us why. It is a truly natural product. Any alcoholic beverage, whether it is made from apples, grapes, dates, rice or plain white sugar, once exposed to air, will turn naturally to vinegar. It is the ever-present bacteria in the air that converts the alcohol in cider, wine, and beer, into acetic acid, which gives vinegar its characteristic sharp sour taste. So it is safe to say that man has been exposed to vinegar since before recorded vinegar history.

In 1721, the Bubonic Plague hit many French cities so hard that all the dead could not be decently buried. To cope with this situation, the French authorities released condemned convicts from prison to help bury the highly infectious corpses. According to legend, while most died, one team of four convicted thieves managed to survive by drinking daily large amounts of vinegar infused with garlic. As a result vinegar steeped in garlic is still sold today as four thieves vinegar.

Take charge of your health we are living in uncertain days and need to have a top notch immune system……….

Ciao to all, Q

Hi all.

To carry on from my last post about barley, the goodness of green & BarleyLife®, here are some thoughts gathered from various places regarding green chlorophyll rich plants.

People suffering from fatigue, hypoglycemia or degenerative diseases would do well to find time or find someone to make a raw green drink as nothing, truly substitutes for the fresh, raw chlorophyll to ease pain and aid in cell building. “Willa Vae Bowles, a leading nutritionist.

“Drinking lots of chlorophyll-rich juice is somewhat like getting a natural blood transfusion. It flushes the lymph system, nourishes and oxygenates the vascular system, cleanses the intestines, and is healing and soothing to all mucous membranes.”Steve Meyerowitz

“High chlorophyll foods are excellent oxygen transporters, so including super foods like wheat grass and barley grass juice can help us think more clearly. Other high chlorophyll foods include the leafy greens such as kale, collards and beet greens.”Brigitte Mars

Chlorophyll, is nature’s most health-promoting nutrient. Here are a few of the things it does best:

A powerful detoxifying agent for the liver. Removes carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide.

A strong internal deodorizer for the entire digestive tract, you will notice Halitosis gone.

It Has anti-inflammatory properties. Cuts excess cholesterol, triglycerides and other blood lipids (fats).

Has antioxidant properties. Nearly identical chemical structure to hemoglobin, the body’s critical oxygen and iron-carrying blood protein; stimulates hemoglobin production, which oxygenates and energizes the entire body.

Has wound-healing properties. Chlorophyll has been studied for its potential in stimulating tissue growth, in stimulating red blood cells in connection with oxygen supply, and in reducing absorption of dietary carcinogens.

Finding and processing so much green to get chlorophyll is made much easier with BarleyLife®.

The barley plants in AIM BarleyLife® are grown in New Zealand where the soil is rich in nutrients and clean from pollution.I know I have been there!

If you would like to try this product, I do not think you will be disappointed. I have used it for many years and have customers who have had the same health benefits.

I am not into products just because they are a certain brand. I recommend to you products that I use and that effect my life and health daily. This is one of them.

You can find MORE INFO or ORDER BarleyLife® to try HERE

Till next time…………

Good health

green is good

Continuing on the subject of whole foods let me introduce to you Barley powder known as BarleyLife, it is an all-natural, green barley juice concentrate that helps provide the daily nutrition you need to develop a strong foundation for your good health. The power of AIM BarleyLife® is found in the nutrients of young barley leaves. Research has found that green barley juice is abundant in enzymes, essential amino acids, and is rich in antioxidant ability, anti-inflammatory activity, immune system support and cholesterol lowering effects. The result is a feeling of total wellness!

What really sets BarleyLife apart from other food supplements are the thousands of live enzymes. The anti-aging enzyme S.O.D. is one of the most important. These enzymes aid in digestion and metabolism, and also help to disperse vitamins and minerals easily. These thousands of live enzymes also help to purge the body of toxins, poisons, and pollutants that are absorbed through the air, water and the food we consume

Barley juice is also a superlative source of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll has a molecular structure almost exactly like that of hemoglobin, the protein found in red blood cells. Our blood, however, contains an atom of iron, while chlorophyll contains an atom of magnesium. It is known that in experiments with anemic animals, red blood cell count, even in the most anemic animals, returned to normal within 4 to 5 days after chlorophyll had been administered.

Tomorrow more on Barley……..

Let’s talk about the difference between “Whole Food Based” vs. “Synthetic” Supplements

A great example would be just to simply look at almost any Multi-Vitamin. When you scan the nutritional content fact and ingredient label, you’ll see quite an assortment of vitamins…Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, etc. here are ingredients:

Ingredients: Dicalcium Phosphate, Magnesium Oxide, Potassium Choride, Cellulose, Ascorbic Acid, Ferrous Fumarate, Calcium Carbonate, Gelatin, dl-Alpha, Tocopheryl Acetate, Croscarmellose Sodium, Niacinamide, Zinc Oxide, Dextrin, Steric Acid, etc…

pay attention to the items listed under “Ingredients”. Those are what we call “Isolated” vitamins and other “chemicals”. There are no foods or herbal ingredients listed; only partial vitamins and other chemicals. Nature intended for us to consume food in its WHOLE form because all the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and enzymes are together in one package and work synergistically together to bring your body the nutrition that it needs. When you take one part away from the whole, you get “Synthetic”, “Isolated” or “Fractionated” pieces of the whole, but it is simply not the same. The other problem is that by taking isolated vitamins, sometimes we are getting “massive” doses of some vitamins, but not enough of others. Over time, this can cause health problems too and aren’t we trying to get healthy rather than cause more problems? Whole-Food based supplements are different. Typically, they will list the foods that the supplement was made from. Here is an example of what to look for when searching for a Whole-Food based product, see the difference under the Ingredients there is actual WHOLE food listed

Ingredients Vegetable juice powder and pulp from carrots, parsley, beets, kale, broccoli, cabbage, spinach and tomato; etc.

What a difference this 2nd product will make in your body vs. the first product! You’ll actually be gaining benefits from the WHOLE food and all of the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and enzymes that occur naturally in the food or plant.

In summary, be sure you read your labels! It is important to educate yourself about what you’ll be putting into your body and supplements are no different than anything else. You want to be consuming supplements that have actual whole food, plants or herbs listed on the label; that way you know it is as close to natural as possible! And lastly, understand that no supplement alone will help you achieve the level of health you desire…you will have to make lifestyle and behavior changes AND take supplements in order to achieve ultimate health.
